Orders & Returns
Shopping for your gown should feel exciting — not stressful. Whether you’re ordering in-studio or purchasing online through our website, we’ll keep everything clear, supportive, and easy from start to finish. You’ll receive confirmation at each step, helpful updates along the way, and guidance around timelines, sizing and next steps so you always know exactly what to expect.
Prefer to buy online? You can order selected gowns and pieces directly through our website — once your order is placed, we’ll be in touch to confirm details (including any measurements if needed), discuss delivery or pick-up, and make sure everything is set up smoothly for you.
How ordering works at Bayside Bridal
When you say “yes” to your gown, we’ll guide you through a simple, clear process:
1) Measurements & order details
During your appointment we’ll take your measurements, confirm your chosen style/size (and any approved customisations), then prepare your order for production.
2) Deposit to secure your gown
A 50% deposit is required to place and secure your order. Once your deposit is received, your order is submitted to the designer and production begins.
3) Balance payments
The remaining balance is due before pick-up, or within 6 months of ordering (whichever comes first).
If you’d like a more flexible payment plan, or you need a rush order, please chat with us — we’ll always do our best to help.
4) Production timeframes
Lead times vary by designer and season and can range from 2–8 months. We’ll confirm an estimated timeframe at your appointment based on your wedding date and selected brand/style.
5) Made-to-measure & alterations
Some gowns may be available as made-to-measure. Even with made-to-measure, minor alterations are required to achieve that perfect fit.
Because bodies change (and that’s totally normal!), Bayside Bridal can’t take responsibility for fit changes due to weight loss/gain, pregnancy, or other body changes after ordering — but we’ll guide you through the best next steps and alteration options.
Returns & refunds
Because most bridal gowns are made-to-order (ordered specifically for you), our returns policy is different to standard retail.
Made-to-order & made-to-measure gowns
Once your order is confirmed and placed with the designer, it is final sale and non-refundable.
This includes gowns ordered in a selected size, made-to-order gowns, made-to-measure gowns, and any approved customisations.
Off-the-rack / ready-to-wear gowns
If you purchase an off-the-rack gown (already made and purchased “as is”), returns may be considered only in limited circumstances, and must be requested within 2 days of purchase, subject to inspection and approval by Bayside Bridal.
Bayside Bridal Terms & Conditions (Orders + Returns)
By placing an order with Bayside Bridal, you agree to the following:
1) Order confirmation
An order is considered confirmed when any of the following occurs:
You sign an order form/contract, and/or
You pay a deposit, and/or
You provide written confirmation (email/message) for Bayside Bridal to proceed.
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure all order details are correct at the time of confirmation, including gown selection, size, measurements, colour, and any design choices.
2) Deposits
A 50% deposit is required to secure your gown and commence the ordering process.
Deposits are non-refundable once the order has been placed with the designer, as this secures materials and production time.
3) Payments
The remaining balance is due prior to pick-up, or within 6 months of ordering (whichever comes first).
Payment methods may include card, bank transfer, or any other method advised by Bayside Bridal.
4) Cancellations & change of mind
Made-to-order/made-to-measure orders generally cannot be cancelled once placed with the designer.
If a cancellation is requested within 48 hours of confirmation, Bayside Bridal may (at our discretion) approve a partial refund only if the order has not been placed/processed by the designer.
Where a refund is approved, it may be less any transaction fees and reasonable administrative costs.
5) Off-the-rack / ready-to-wear purchases
Off-the-rack items are sold first come, first served and generally must be paid in full at purchase.
Off-the-rack gowns are sold as is. Any minor blemishes or wear consistent with a sample/off-the-rack item are not considered faults.
If a payment plan is offered (at Bayside Bridal’s discretion), the balance remains payable and the gown cannot be collected until paid in full. Final payment/pick-up must occur no later than 3 months after the initial deposit unless agreed otherwise in writing.
6) Fit, measurements & alterations
Gowns are ordered based on the measurements taken and/or size selected at the time of ordering.
Bayside Bridal is not liable for fit issues caused by changes in measurements after ordering (including weight change or pregnancy).
Any changes requested after an order is placed may incur additional fees and/or extend delivery timelines (designer dependent).
Alterations are usually required to achieve the best fit. We can recommend a local alteration specialist.
7) Collection, delivery & storage
Collection is arranged with Bayside Bridal at an agreed time (online booking, email or phone).
Delivery may be available on request and may incur additional fees.
If gowns are not collected within a reasonable timeframe after notification, storage arrangements/fees may apply (if applicable, this will be communicated in writing).
8) Quality assurance & faults
Bridal gowns are often handmade; slight variations in fabric, beading and finish can occur and are not considered faults.
Please inspect your gown at pick-up and notify Bayside Bridal of any concerns within 24 hours of collection.
If a genuine manufacturing fault is confirmed, Bayside Bridal will determine the appropriate remedy in consultation with the designer (repair, replacement, or refund where applicable). Any refund requires the gown to be returned unworn and unaltered.
9) Liability
Bayside Bridal is not liable for delays, defects, or issues outside our reasonable control. Any liability is limited to the amount paid by the customer where required by law.
10) Privacy
We respect your privacy and manage personal information in accordance with applicable Australian privacy laws. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for details.
11) Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
